Required Training

Online Teaching Essentials (OTE)

All faculty who teach online are required to complete the Online Teaching Essentials course.

  • Learn foundational strategies for designing and delivering online courses.
  • Gain confidence with technology, course design, and student engagement in digital environments.
  • Ensure your courses meet institutional standards for quality and accessibility.

To enroll in the OTE course, please submit a MyHelp ticket to Online Instructional Design Requests

Instructional Design Services

Our instructional design team provides one-on-one support for faculty developing or revising online courses.

  • Collaborative course planning and design consultations
  • Guidance on solving issues in online teaching (e.g., alignment, assessment development, or content development).
  • Strategies for enhancing student engagement and presence online
  • Support with educational technology and multimedia integration

To request instructional design services for your online courses, please submit a MyHelp ticket to Online Instructional Design Requests. We recommend reaching out 8–12 weeks before your course begins for the best results.

Online Course Reviews

We offer reviews of online courses to ensure they meet quality standards and provide a strong learning experience.

  • Feedback on course organization, clarity, and accessibility
  • Recommendations for improving student interaction and engagement
  • Resources for continuous improvement of your course design

To request a review of your online courses, please submit a MyHelp ticket to Online Instructional Design Requests. We recommend requesting a review at least one term before the course will be taught to allow time for revisions.
